QUESTION: Why should I read the Old Testament if Jesus fulfilled the law?
Jesus said, “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.” (Matthew 5:17).
In fulfilling the Law, Jesus did not do away with it. He showed us what the point was. What do you think the point is?

This was my question; thank you for answering it. I suppose I’m mostly interested because if Jesus summed up the Law and the Prophets with the Great Commandments to love Him and love one another, and if His life and death are the teaching and sacrifice we need, of what necessity is the Old Testament? Is it just background and/or context?
Also, the 10:30 service ran out of the study guide; I didn’t see it available to print or download on the website. Could it be placed there?
